What to Expect
It is our priority to make your first visit as comfortable as possible. The purpose of the consultation is to discover your expectations, desires and goals. It is wise to research the procedure you wish to discuss before coming in for the consultation. This will not only give you a clear, realistic perspective of what could be achieved, but will also allow you time to think of questions you wish to ask Dr. Hackney in the consultation. He will answer any questions or concerns you may have and give you an honest, objective opinion about what he believes he can accomplish. Our goal is to provide you with the information you need to make a decision that is best for you.
When you arrive for your cosmetic consultation you will be greeted by our receptionist who will give you medical history and patient information forms to complete. If you wish to save time and complete the forms before your appointment, these forms are also available on our website.

After you complete these forms the nurse will accompany you to the exam room where she will briefly go over your chart and the concerns you will be discussing with Dr. Hackney. When Dr. Hackney comes in he will discuss your concerns in depth and perform any necessary exams. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have. After you are comfortable with this information, you will talk with Dr. Hackney's patient coordinator in the privacy of her office regarding procedure costs. Fees for cosmetic surgery are paid in advance and are usually collected two weeks before your surgery. She will also know what dates Dr. Hackney has available, should you wish to schedule your procedure, or you may call her back if you want to discuss your plans with a family member or coordinate your work schedule.
The entire consultation usually takes 1-2 hours. We hope that when you leave our office you will feel comfortable with our staff, that we have satisfactorily answered your questions and that the consultation has been a pleasant experience. You are always welcome to call with additional questions and if the nurse or patient coordinator cannot answer them, they will check with Dr. Hackney and return your call as soon as possible. |
